New band

Just started to conduct NTU band last week.

asked them to change the percussion to the normal place, i don' t know why both Mr. Luk and Mr.Ho want the section on their right.
Next practice, going to fix some technical mistake they are making now and intonation problem. Especialy their way of counting the rhythm is way too heavy to me.
Shall I let them play more marches for solving this problem?

wmmm.... very fast and big monitor
have been using small lap top, now i can open music score easily for reading and writing.

NTU band is asking me to take over Mr. loke, never listened this band performance.
Sahll I take this band or not?

UNISONO concert

I am 43 now. how long, how many years, how many times I will conduct the bands?
10years? 5more SYF? 30 major concert? Or more?

UNISONO was one of the best concert, I have ever conducted. Technically, it was not the best performance but the way students put their effort, shining eye balls!! moved audience's heart. When conducting "It's a small world" my tear almost dropped Trumpet played bright fanfare, horn screamed, band suppoce to play much softer for the song but everybody just play from their heart, and saw juniors singing out loud with happy face, saw rgs alumni singing joyfully and etc
almost tear dropped.
I was the happiest man in the world.

I'm going to share this joyful life with my students for another ten years or more.

National Day

went for 40th National Day celebration at Tampines,
oh, RGS band has just celebrated their 40th anniversary on 31 Jly.
augh, RI band didn't do anything theirs' last year............

Well done!

WASBE opning concert by SYWO............... some accidents were here and there, but OK. Many people congratulate me and ask me about "and then the ocean glows" , they like it and wanted to know how to get the score.

Senzoku college of music concert............. ok lah, no comment.

Kosei.......... expected much better than that, a little of disappointment. Now I understand what is noisy conductor. Bostok will bye bye to kosei after this trip.

And RGS 40th anniversary concert with RI and Miyazaki Dream band.
Very happy on the stage both RI and RGS, It was one of the best concert I conduct. I could see them enjoyed playing together.
And Miyazaki band students were really showed us typical good Japanese band sound, clean and light!!

Well Done!!
